Dr. McCurdy has dedicated his efforts to clinical care, medical education, clinical research, and administrative roles. As a Clinical Professor of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine at University of Maryland’s inner-city quaternary academic referral and cancer center working in the Medical ICU, managing hospital bedflow, and running the critical care fellowship. He then was the Chair of Medicine and ICU Director at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center during the Covid pandemic before serving as the Chief Medical Officer of a medical technology innovation company in Cambridge, MA. He was recently named Chief Medical Officer at Clairyon, a pioneer in developing generative AI tools that enable clinicians, quality and safety teams, and command centers to capture, learn from, report, and act on patient data in real-time while reducing the burden of chart abstraction. Meanwhile, Dr. McCurdy continues to work clinically in the ICU.
