Dr. McCurdy has dedicated his efforts to clinical care, medical education, clinical research, and administrative roles. Currently a clinical professor of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine, in 2022 he joined MIraki Innovation in Cambridge, MA, where he focuses on the creation, development, and deployment of novel solutions to complex medical problems encountered in the inpatient, outpatient, austere, and military environments.
In 2020, Dr. McCurdy became Chief of the Department of Medicine and Medical Director of the Medical-Surgical and Cardiosurgical ICUs at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center. He also spent over a decade in the Medical ICU at UMMC, an inner-city quaternary academic referral center, where he managed patients with septic shock, cardiogenic shock, oncologic emergencies, neurologic injuries, and acute respiratory, renal, and liver failure.
